Implant Dentistry

When you have lost a tooth, it can affect your ability to eat, affect your appearance or put more pressure on your remaining teeth and increase risk of damaging the remaining teeth.

A dental implant is one way to replace single missing teeth, multiple missing teeth or all teeth missing.

A dental implant is a titanium screw that is placed in the jaw bone, acting like a tooth root. A tooth is then made to attach to the implant.

Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth as they act like you own tooth, they can be brushed and flossed like regular teeth.

If you have multiple missing teeth you may not require a dental implant to replace each individual tooth. Similar to bridges, 2 dental implants may be able to be placed to replace 3 to 4 teeth.

If you are missing all your teeth and are unhappy with your dentures, dental implants can be a fantastic option. Dental implants can be placed which can then be attached to your denture, allowing you to still remove your dentures but not have to be worried about them moving around when you eat, laugh or sneeze. If you do not like the idea of dentures at all you can have dental implants placed and have teeth attached to the implants that cannot be removed at home, giving the strongest and most cosmetic option, the closest to having your own teeth back.
